थाना जनकपुर में दिनांक 22 जनवरी 2026 को पीड़िता की मां (काल्पनिक नाम बी) द्वारा जुबानी प्रथम सूचना पत्र दर्ज कराई गई। रिपोर्ट में बताया गया कि उसकी नाबालिग बेटी (काल्पनिक नाम अ) दिनांक 20 जनवरी 2026 को अपनी छोटी बहन (काल्पनिक नाम क) के साथ जनकपुर मेला देखने जाने की बात कहकर घर से निकली थी। मेला देखने के बाद छोटी बहन तो वापस लौट आई, लेकिन बड़ी बहन घर नहीं आई।
परिजनों द्वारा आसपास एवं रिश्तेदारों में काफी तलाश करने के बावजूद जब नाबालिग बालिका का कोई पता नहीं चला, तब पीड़िता की मां ने थाना जनकपुर में रिपोर्ट दर्ज कराई। रिपोर्ट के आधार पर पुलिस ने अज्ञात आरोपी के विरुद्ध अपराध पंजीबद्ध कर विवेचना प्रारंभ की।
विवेचना के दौरान पीड़िता की मां द्वारा प्रस्तुत स्कूल प्रमाण पत्र जब्त किया गया तथा घटना स्थल का निरीक्षण कर साक्ष्य एकत्र किए गए। पुलिस द्वारा पीड़िता की पतासाजी की जा रही थी, इसी दौरान मुखबिर से प्राप्त सूचना के आधार पर पेट्रोल पंप रोड, जनकपुर में दबिश देकर पुलिस ने पीड़िता एवं संदेही आरोपी को बरामद किया।
महिला पुलिस अधिकारी द्वारा पीड़िता का कथन कराए जाने पर सामने आया कि आरोपी ने उसे शादी का झांसा देकर बहला-फुसलाकर जनकपुर मेले से मोटरसाइकिल पर बैठाया, जंगल में ले जाकर जबरन शारीरिक संबंध बनाकर बलात्कार किया।
पीड़िता के कथन के आधार पर आरोपी के विरुद्ध धारा 64, 69, 115(2) बीएनएस एवं पॉक्सो अधिनियम की धारा 4 व 6 जोड़ी गई। तत्पश्चात आरोपी सुमेर बैगा उर्फ संतलाल, पिता सुमिरन उर्फ बबलू, उम्र 22 वर्ष, निवासी ग्राम नौड़िया, थाना जनकपुर को गिरफ्तार कर विधिवत पूछताछ के बाद न्यायिक रिमांड पर जेल भेज दिया गया।
इस संपूर्ण कार्रवाई में थाना प्रभारी ओ.पी. दुबे, सहायक उप निरीक्षक दिनेश चौहान, प्रधान आरक्षक संजय पांडे, आरक्षक संदीप, महिला नवारीक्षक राजकुमारी, डीएसएफ विष्णु एवं आरक्षक सूर्यपाल की महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका रही।
