एमसीबी जिले के जनकपुर में साप्ताहिक बाजार और बस स्टैण्ड को अन्य स्थान पर स्थानांतरित करने के प्रस्ताव का विरोध शुरू हो गया है। सोमवार 16 मार्च 2026 को ब्लॉक कांग्रेस कमेटी जनकपुर के नेतृत्व में कांग्रेस पदाधिकारियों और कार्यकर्ताओं ने एसडीएम भरतपुर को ज्ञापन सौंपकर इस निर्णय पर आपत्ति जताई।
ज्ञापन में कहा गया है कि जनकपुर का साप्ताहिक बाजार पहले से ही मंडी की जमीन पर संचालित हो रहा है और यहां शासन द्वारा लगभग 15 लाख रुपये की लागत से शेड का निर्माण भी कराया गया है। ऐसे में बाजार को गौठान की ओर स्थानांतरित करने का प्रस्ताव तर्कसंगत नहीं है।
कांग्रेस पदाधिकारियों का कहना है कि जिस गौठान स्थल की बात की जा रही है, उसे शासन द्वारा पुनः गौधाम योजना के तहत विकसित किया जाना प्रस्तावित है। ऐसे में वहां बाजार शिफ्ट करना उचित नहीं होगा।
इसके साथ ही ज्ञापन में बस स्टैण्ड को लेकर भी आपत्ति जताई गई है। पदाधिकारियों ने कहा कि जब तक बस स्टैण्ड के लिए विधिवत भूमि आबंटित नहीं हो जाती और वहां शौचालय सहित आवश्यक सुविधाओं के साथ नया बस स्टैण्ड तैयार नहीं हो जाता, तब तक उसे वर्तमान स्थान से हटाना सही निर्णय नहीं होगा।
कांग्रेस नेताओं ने चेतावनी दी है कि यदि बिना उचित व्यवस्था के बाजार और बस स्टैण्ड को हटाने की कार्रवाई की गई, तो 22 मार्च 2026 को चक्का जाम कर विरोध प्रदर्शन किया जाएगा और मांग पूरी होने तक आंदोलन जारी रहेगा।
ज्ञापन सौंपने के दौरान ब्लॉक कांग्रेस कमेटी अध्यक्ष अंकुर प्रताप सिंह, सांसद प्रतिनिधि रवि प्रताप सिंह, अवधेश सिंह, संजीव कुमार गुप्ता, धर्मेंद्र कुमार शर्मा, देवेंद्र पांडेय, वकील खान, संजय सिंह, विक्की जगवानी, असद कादरी, शिवम कुमार पयासी सहित बड़ी संख्या में कांग्रेस कार्यकर्ता मौजूद रहे।
